Hereditary Hair thinning follow by hair loss

One of the most frequent reasons of hair loss in female patients is hereditary thinning. Hereditary thinning occurs in all different races, it can be acquired from either the mother’s or father’s family side, or both. It begins at puberty, but it could take a couple of years before hair thinning is noticeable, women suffering from hair thinning at puberty may not even notice it until their last teen years or even in their early 20’s. In fact, a woman could lose about half of her hair’s volume before it becomes noticeable. Hair loss rates differ from women to women also many other factors could worsen hair loss.
Hereditary thinning could be suffered by healthy women living a normal life. Women with this type of hair loss keep regular hairlines and thinning may be scarce, usually occurring at the top of their head. These women may notice that their hairlines are a bit wider at the top of the head than at the sides (also this type of hair loss is very common in people suffering from alopecia).
A normal scalp sheds about 100 hairs per day. A woman with hereditary thinning will realize that, although her hair is thinning, hair shedding its not increasing. This type of hair loss could be treated with medication such as minoxidil applying it twice a day. This treatment should be discontinued if female patients become pregnant. Due to hormonal activity, it is possible to experience hair loss while being pregnant, treatment could resume after giving birth.
